Attendance Policy

Attendance is a significant factor in the workplace; therefore, it is an important part of your employment preparation and training. There are no excused absences in Adult Education and Office Skills training. Almost all schools enforce attendance policies. Before you take a course in Office Skills, make sure that you are in a position in life to make a commitment to your training and that you will be able to attend class every day.

If you have to miss class for any reason, you absences must be reported to your school office prior to class time. Make sure you understand your school's Attendance Policy. Students with less than 90% attendance can be dropped from the program.

Always arrive and leave class on time! If you are late it is considered tardy behavior and some schools will count up to 3 late's as an absence. Once again, make sure you understand your schools Attendance Policy and abide by it

No food is allowed in the classroom. Most classrooms will allow you to bring a plastic water bottle that may be placed on the table or desk beside you. You will be asked to remove your drinks when you leave.

Books: Books are very often provided by the school and are available for classroom use only. It is recommended that you always buy your own book if you can afford it. This way, you can practice at home and will also have the book for reference later on when you get a job.
