Midterm:
Midterm will be for the first half of the class. We will begin MS Access in the second half of Class.Please note:This is the deadline for all work and assignments up to 2/19
Class Objectives:
Students will have mastered the material in this project when they can:
- Describe databases and database management systems
- Start Access
- Describe the features of the Access desktop
- Create a database
- Create a table and add records
- Close a table
- Close a database and quit Access
- Open a database
- Print the contents of a table
- Create and use a simply query
- Create and use a simple form
- Create and print a custom report
Lecture/Lab:
Review the Introduction to databases presentation. In class demo on how to create and use a database in Microsoft Access or view the following presentation: Create an Access Database for a Client
Lab/Hands On:
- Access Chapter 1 - Lab 1 - Create the JMS TechWizards Database, PG AC 67
- Access Chapter 1 - Lab 2 -Create the Hockey Fan Zone Database, PG AC 68
- Access Chapter 1 - Lab 3 - ADA Beauty Supply Database, PG AC 69
Homework:
- Reading - Read AC2 - AC6 on Database Creation and AC6-AC23 on Designing a Database.
