Web
A lot
of people get the Internet and the World Wide Web confused. The WWW
is
a network of computers all over the world. The WWW is most often called
the Web.
The computers on the Web communicate using standard protocols and
languages.
The World
Wide Web is actually an application of the Internet and consists
of a collection of electronic documents that are linked together
like a spider web.These specially formatted documents are text documents
created in HTML, the language of the web. These documents are interpreted
by your web browser and become what is know as web pages.
These documents are stored on computers on the Internet
called servers which can be located in any country around
the world. These documents not only contain just text , they can be
pretty documents with headlines, graphics, sound, video, and click-on
links
to other
documents
and sites.

you need to Connect to the Internet
A computer
An ordinary phone line or ISDN line; or an ADSL line or cable connection
An analogue modem (ordinary phone line) or terminal adaptor (ISDN) or
broadband modem (ADSL and cable)
An account with an ISP (Internet Service Provider)
Browser software

What is a Web Page
A web page is an electronic document written in a computer language called
HTML (Hypertext Markup Language
Each page has a unique address known as a URL (Uniform Resource Locator),
which identifies its location on the server
Web pages usually contain hyperlinks to other web pages. Hyperlinks are
text and images that reference the URLs of other web pages

What is a Web Site?
A website is one or more web pages that relate to a common theme, such
as a person, business, organization, or a subject, such as sports.
The first page is called the home page, which acts like an index, indicating
the content on the site.
From the home page, you can click hyperlinks to access other web pages.
