Lesson 5 - Introduction to Browsers -
Internet Explorer
A web
browser is the software program you use to access the World Wide
Web. Two of the most popular browsers are Netscape and Internet Explorer.
For the purposes of this course, we are going to focus primarily
on Internet Explorer.
When you first open up Internet Explorer, you will notice
the following toolbar.

Back -- Returns you to the previous page.
Forward -- Returns you to a page you have backed up from.
Home -- Takes you to a home page specified in the browser preferences.
Refresh -- Downloads the web page from the server again.
Stop -- Stops the browser from loading the current page.
Print -- Lets you make a hard copy of the current document loaded in
your browser.
Address Bar
Below
the toolbar you will find the address bar. You can type in the URL of
a web address such as http:// www.ebay.com in
the Address Bar, then click the "GO" button.
